Safeway Store – 180 El Camino Real, South San Francisco

Geo-Engineering Solutions (GES) partnered with Steelwave on the development of a new Safeway store located in South San Francisco. The project site presented significant geotechnical challenges due to prior development, the presence of liquefiable soils, and nearby deep utility lines.

To address these conditions, GES designed specialized underpinning foundation systems, including the use of rigid inclusions to effectively isolate the new building foundations from the adjacent utilities. GES provided comprehensive geotechnical services throughout the project, including initial site investigation, and earthwork observation and testing during construction.
