Corey T. Dare, PE, GE

Principal Engineer, Geo-Engineering Solutions, Inc

As a Principal Geotechnical Engineer at Geo-Engineering Solutions, Mr. Dare brings over 40 years of practical experience providing geotechnical engineering services to both public and private sector clients throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and Northern California He has a wide range of project experience from the pre-design through construction phases of projects for project types including K-12 educational facilities, public and private colleges and universities, hospitals and medical office buildings, government, commercial, residential and mixed-use structures, industrial facilities, road improvements, creek and trail restoration, and water and wastewater facilities.

Mr. Dare has extensive experience dealing with complex geotechnical challengessuch as landslide (including slope stability) evaluation and remediation, identification of and construction on liquefiable and expansive soils, soft soil remediation, and settlement mitigation. He spent many years managing the geotechnical and materials testing construction services groups. He is an experienced geotechnical peer reviewer for Bay Area Cities and Towns including Oakland, Orinda, Moraga, Piedmont, Belmont, and Martinez, and Counties such as Alameda and Monterey.

Colin Frost, PE

Russell Thacker is a Senior Engineering Technician at Geo-Engineering Solutions, Inc., with over 35 years of experience in materials testing services for asphalt and earthwork projects across California. His extensive background ensures exceptional problem-solving capabilities and precision in project execution. As our most experienced engineering technician, we rely on Russ to be a mentor to our younger engineers, geologists and technicians. Russ is adept at teaching contractors as well as young professionals about the practical side of earthwork construction and testing.

In his spare time, Russ contributes back to the community by coaching softball in the East Bay.

Nicolas B. Haddad, PE

Senior Engineer, Geo-Engineering Solutions

Nicolas has over 34 years of experience in providing a unique combination of Environmental and Geotechnical engineering consulting services to development projects.

His extensive consulting experience includes addressing complex environmental issues, providing team leadership, fostering strong client relationships, and offering strategic guidance in risk management and project evaluation. He has supported a wide range of development projects, spanning land planning, educational facilities, commercial buildings, and residential subdivisions, while also contributing to professional development initiatives and long-term project success.

Nicolas has hands-on experience in managing large sites impacted with hazardous materials, from the immediate response assessments and investigations to the implementation of remediation design and operation, and case closure.

He has also managed geotechnical investigations, construction testing and inspection for a variety of projects including schools, commercial and residential developments.

As President and founder of Geo-Engineering Solutions, I am committed to advancing the practice of geotechnical engineering by integrating a deep understanding of geology with the engineering behavior of soil and rock. I am passionate about fostering a culture of creativity and technical excellence among our engineers, geologists, and technicians, encouraging innovative approaches to complex challenges in the built environment.

With extensive experience across a wide range of complex and technically demanding projects, my portfolio includes work on deep-seated landslides, major earthen dams, high-rise developments supported by deep foundation systems, large-scale residential grading projects, soft soil remediation, liquefaction-prone sites, and active fault investigations. I bring a hands-on, practical perspective to each project, blending field expertise with rigorous engineering analysis.

Beyond my professional work, I enjoy exploring other passions, including cooking, traveling, hiking, fly fishing, and spending time with my family.
